ENGLAND ATHLETICS
REGIONAL GROUP EVENT COACHES - South West
(voluntary positions)
Speed, Endurance, Jumps, Throws & Combined Events
As part of the modernisation of the sport of athletics in readiness for Olympic success, England Athletics has been formed into nine regions.
The South West region now requires five group event coaches to lead squad activity in an equitable way throughout the region. The group event coach will appoint suitably qualified coaches for each discipline within their area.
The successful candidates for the posts will need to be qualified and experienced as well as capable of working with and supporting athletes’ coaches. Expenses will be paid for agreed regional coaching workshops or squads.
Knowledge and experience of athletics in a performance environment will be very helpful and a real enthusiasm for an athlete-centred approach will be essential. The ability to develop talent, work with coaches and enthuse athletes will be an absolute key to success.
